This week we launched a summary of our forthcoming document ‘A Blueprint for Growth’.
The Blueprint is designed to act as a manifesto for the years ahead, setting out what Government’s priorities for the Brexit negotiations should be – namely the importance of maintaining ease of trade at UK ports and ensuring our companies have access to the world’s best maritime talent. But it also goes a step further, arguing that if other reforms already within the UK Government’s power are delivered alongside those Brexit priorities then the UK could leave the EU on the best possible footing, with every possibility of boosting jobs and economic activity in the long run.
The World Bank’s survey this week ranked the UK as the best place to do business in the G7, but with threats to that status on the horizon, it is vital to ensure Brexit negotiations are not seen in isolation, but as a major part of a broader rebooting of how the country does business.
The full Blueprint will be launched in November, but for now you can read our summary here.
