A Chinese containership has taken on water and is partially submerged after grounding in the East China Sea.  Hongyuan Marine’s 2,006-teu Hong Yuan 02 (built 1997) hit a reef off Huanglong Island on 15 December while en route from Jingtang to Humen, the HSDHW website said.

All 21 of the crew were taken off, but eight later returned to help with lightering.  Water has flooded into cargo holds, but no pollution has been reported.  Containers have now begun to be lifted off and a tanker has also started to remove fuel.
