The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has issued a new bulletin on compliance with the North American and U.S. Caribbean Sea Emission Control Areas (ECAs).

The bulletin, which specifically addresses Annex VI compliance issues for a range of circumstances, provides answers to frequently asked questions regarding exhaust gas cleaning systems, low sulfur fuel requirements, and NOx Tier III for dual fuel engines, among other issues.

“Vessel operators are encouraged to contact EPA or U.S. Coast Guard before applying these responses for a particular set of circumstances,” noted the organisation.

The document can be accessed through EPA’s website here.
