China’s SITC continues its rapid fleet build up, cementing its position as the nation’s largest private boxline.
With the acquisition of the 1,043 teu from Germany’s Harmstorf, SITC, an intra-Asia specialist, is now a firm fixture within the top 20 liner list created by Alphaliner. Brokers suggest SITC has paid $8.2m for the ship.
SITC’s fleet recently surpassed the 100,000 teu mark. According to Alphaliner it now ranks as the 19th largest boxship line in the world with a fleet of 103,155 slots.
