Maersk Expands Vessel Management Contract

A new agreement has been put forth comprises management of three 8,400-TEU container vessels.

The agreement also includes crew members and technical management, plus additional services relating to safety/security, environmental protection and energy efficiency.

Maersk retains company:

Maersk line has retained E.R. Schiffahrt has the manager for Germany based company. Maersk will continue the management of three ships, supplementing a current six-vessel management contract.

Vessel fleet expanded:

This new agreement with Maersk will prove beneficial to E.R. Schiffahrt which will increase its managed fleet for the world’s largest liner company from six vessels to nine.

Toast for successful partnership:

Nils Aden, E.R. Schiffahrt, CEO released a statement, “We are pleased to manage three further vessels for Maersk Line and thus be able to deepen the successful partnership that we started one and a half years en-year-old container vessels will be bare boat chartered by Maersk and continue to trade as the Maersk Saigon, Maersk Stralsund and Maersk Seoul”.

2M alliance – TP16/Emerald Loop:

Based on Ocean carrier schedule and capacity database BlueWater Reporting, all three ships serve on the 2M Alliance’s TP16/Emerald loop between Asia,  the U.S Southeast and the Caribbean.

The TP16/Emerald operates with 11 vessels with an average capacity of 8,733 TEUs. The service has a full port rotation of Hong Kong, Yantian, Busan, Savannah, Norfolk, Charleston, Miami, Freeport (Bahamas), and back to Hong Kong.
