A cargo ship reportedly sank near an oil platform after being wrecked by rough weather.

What happened?

The cargo ship named ‘Fugang 1’ reportedly sank near an oil platform in the Bohai Sea, after being caught in rough weather condition.

Crew rescued:

Fortunately, the crew members onboard the vess were rescued by two offshore supply tugs named ‘Hai Yang Shi You 615’ and ‘Binhai 264’. No one was injured during the incident.

Alert issued:

Since the vessel sank near an oil platform and on a busy route, SAR has been continuously monitoring the vicinity and the oil platform to avoid any possible damage and untowards situation from occurring.

Investigation underway:

The officials have initiated investigation to determine the cause of the incident in detail.
