The vessel ‘Nawa 10’ issued an alert for ingress caused by a leak aboard the ship. The port officials rushed to the spot and pumped more than 20 tons of water from the foreship.

After disposing of the water in an environmentally correct order, the diver inspect the ship to determine the leak which caused water ingress.

Forgotten hose pipe:

The diver who inspected the ship was not able to find any leak on the ship. After much speculation, the cause of the water ingress was determined to be caused by hose which had been forgotten and unremarked from the anchor eye present inside the ship.

The hose started to leak into the ship when coal was loaded inside the ship.

The ship was allowed to proceed towards its destination Hanover, after the hose was put in its proper place.
