Case of Mistaken Identity: KOTC Denies Sinking of its Ship

Various reports have been circulating in the social media about a tanker belonging to KOTC reportedly sinking off the Oman coast.

What happened?

It is still unclear on how KOTC tanker has been linked to that particular event.

On September, A Tanzanian-flagged commercial vessel loaded with construction material started sinking off the Oman coast with 20 crew members onboard the vessel.

In a timely manner, the 20 crew members from the sinking vessel were reportedly rescued by an Omani Good Samaritan.

KOTC denies sinking:

KOTC, led by chief executive Al-khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, said all vessels in their fleet were safe and accounted for.

Earlier this year KOTC was in the news for its candour in revealing what it paid for its ballast water treatment systems.
