UK-flagged Cargo Ship Troubled in Dardanelles

On September 7, a cargo ship reportedly suffered from an engine failure.

What happened?

The general cargo ship ‘Beaumont’ suffered an engine failure while transiting Dardanelles in northern direction, near Kepez. The vessel was enroute from Brake, Germany to Constanta, Romania when the incident occurred.

Tugs dispatched:

Two tugs were dispatched to assist the troubled freighter and she was assisted to a nearby port Karanlik Liman and brought to anchor off Guzelyali, to fix the problem.

Investigation launched:

The port officials have initiated investigation to determine how the ship ran into engine problem. The vessel will be anchored off Guzelyali until further repairs are carried out.
