Ship with 16 Crew Disabled in the Yellow Sea

On October 12, a cargo vessel was reportedly stranded in the Yellow Sea after suffering from Engine failure.

What happened?

The vessel ‘Feixiong 6’ was disabled in the Yellow Sea with its crew members. The vessel was loaded with 21,000 tonnes for steel when the incident occurred. The Captain of the vessel raised a distress call and assistance was dispatched to the stranded ship.

Rescue tugs tow vessel to safety:

The Search and Rescue ship ‘Bei Hai Jiu 116’ and managed to tow the vessel towards the anchorage in the Rongcheng Bay. After much effort the vessel was towed safely to the anchorage.

Rescue plan convened:

During the course of the voyage, the captain had requested for rescue plan to be convened and the deck staff were ready to drag the locks.

The rescue tug ‘North Sea rescue 116’ arrived on the scene with the bulk carrier ‘Feixiong 6’ to get in touch, the captain told the cable program and cable with caution. After some hard work, all the rescue crew of the joint efforts transported the cable to the ‘Flying 6’.

The vessel was safely towed to Rongcheng Bay anchorage and the rescue crew ensured smooth delivery and rescue mission was successfully completed.
