Tens and Thousands of people rallied in Hong Kong to mark the 18th year since Britain handed over the territory to China.
On wednesday the protesters gathered at Victoria park holding yellow umbrella putting forth their conditions before the city government headquarters.
Demonstrators rallied for :
- Greater freedom of speech
- Complete legal and voting rights
- Resignation of Hong Kong’s leader
- Economic development
Organisers of the rally claimed that more than 48,000 people attended the protest. The Hong Kong police estimated the number to be much lower than 20,000.
