Japan’s Kyoei Tanker continues to renew its fleet. Clarkson Research reports the Tokyo-headquartered company has signed for a 310,300 dwt VLCC at compatriot yard Namura Shipbuilding.
Kyoei has gradually been bolstering its VLCC fleet in the last couple of years, selling one older ship and ordering two VLCCs in 2016 and another pair last year, all at Japanese yards.
Kyoei’s current fleet comprises five VLCCs, five product tankers, six bulkers and an LPG carrier, which was delivered last year.
