Suspicions of money laundering has been raised after a tanker estimated at $ 1.8 million is being sold for only $ 1.
What happened?
The tanker in question is ‘Guazapa 1’ valued at $ 1.8 million is reportedly being sold for one dollar.
Since October 15, 2015, the tanker has been languishing in El Puerto de La Unión. The company Atlantic Pacific Logistic has sold the tanker to the company Guazapa.
Suspicions of money laundering
Investigations have been launched into the incident to determine possible links to drug trafficking and arms smuggling in collaboration with the Colombian FARC guerrillas and who was described as a “first class” money launderer and a FARC arms dealer.
Suspicions have been raised over the intention to buy the vessel which was to ship gasoline from Venezuela to Caribbean countries and companies in the United States.
