The Princess cruise ship is planning to add a second neo-panamax ship into its Panama Canal lineup thereby tallying a total of five vessels for the fall 2019 through spring 2020 season.

The second neo-panamax ship ‘Emerald Princess’ will be modified during a scheduled spring 2019 drydock operation. The vessel is scheduled to traverse the new Agua Clara locks on the Atlantic side of the Canal as well as the new Cocoli Locks on the Pacific Side, that opened in June 2016, as part of the 10-year, $5.4bn neo-panamax expansion.

Three ways to experience the Canal

Princess offers three ways to experience the Canal such as round-trip from Fort Lauderdale, round-trip from Los Angeles or a full transit between Fort Lauderdale and Los Angeles or San Francisco and Vancouver, British Columbia.

A total of thirty-six departures will be made available, with cruises ranging from 10 to 21 days. The program features 21 transits through the historic locks on Coral, Island and Pacific Princess and 15 transits through the new locks on Caribbean and Emerald Princess.
