3069

What are these ports?

It could be Panama, it could be Netherlands Antilles, it could be any of the Caribbean ports, it could be the ports in Louisiana, it could be the ports in Alabama. If you are bunkering any of these ports, please take the following steps.

  1. Ask the supplier to give in writing the source of the bunker fuel and, specifically, if it is coming from Houston and surrounding areas.
  2. Ask him to test and give you the results for the following parameters – TAN (Total Acid
  3. Number) by ASTM D664 AND RSN (Reserve Stability Number) by ASTM D7061. If the TAN value is 0.4 and above AND if the RSN value is greater than 9, you should worry about this fuel.
  4. Please contact us if you need any further information and also for carrying out any additional tests.
