On August 2, a container ship was intercepted by Colombian Navy and was discovered to have pure cocaine hidden onboard the ship.
What happened?
The container ship ‘Cap San Tainaro’ was intercepted by Colombian Navy and the fast response team off Cartagena coast.
Cocaine discovered
The vessel was enroute to Caucedo Dominican Republic when anti-drug team boarded the ship.
They conducted checks on containers and discovered 1144 packages of pure cocaine, hidden inside a container loaded with wine. A total of 1144 kilos of cocaine was discovered.
Crew arrested
The team arrested fifteen persons related to this shipment.
The ship was engaged on Eurosal Loop 1 and the cocaine was destined for Antwerp Belgium.
Investigation initiated
The vessel was escorted and anchored at Barranquilla Anchorage.
An investigation has been initiated to determine the sequence of events.
