Vessels berthed at Singapore ports will soon be supplied LNG fuel by successful applicants of the tender bid.  Interested applicants have been notified to submit their proposals before the 30th of September 2015.  The proposals shall have to include the supplier’s end-to-end LNG bunkering supply solution with details of their delivery and supply model, LNG sources and their sales plan model.  The Maritime Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) shall announce the shortlisted proposals by the end of this year.

The chosen applicants of RFP are expected to supply LNG bunker to support the LNG bunkering Pilot Program that is scheduled to commence in early 2017.

In 2014, in a bid to develop LNG bunkering, a pilot program was launched inviting interested LNG fuel suppliers to establish operational protocols for bunkering at the port.  Technical experts, industry stakeholders and partner agencies collaborated in formulating the pilot program.  The MPA has proposed to fund $2million per vessel for up to six LNG fuelled vessels for the pilot program.

Singapore holds a powerful role in the world of shipping and promoting the use of clean fuels for ship bunkering.  Last year, more than 42 million tons of bunker sales have been recorded in Singapore ports.
