NYK line vessel rescues people stranded in the Mediterranean

Hermes Leader the Bahamas registered 71,177-GT car carrier was on its way to Gioia Tauro, Italy, when it received a call for help.  On 14th July 2015, the ship had just sailed past the Suez canal when it changed course to rescue 336 people stranded in the Mediterranean.  The Hermes Leader with its crew of 33 and captain Ivan Ivanov helped rescue the stranded people.  On 15th July 2015, the next day, they managed to hand over the rescued people to the coast guard at Port of Augusta in Sicily Island, Italy.
