Cargo Ship Freed After Running Aground in Bay Bulls Harbour

According to an article published in VOCM, a massive cargo ship that ran aground in Bay Bulls Harbour has been freed.

What happened?

On 30 June, the cargo ship BBC Oregon approximately 100 meters in length, had just left the Pennecon dock and ended up on the rocks on the south side of the Bay Bulls harbour.

Vessel freed

The crew alerted the Coast Guard officials about the grounding incident, who dispatched a tug to free the vessel. The crew members were reported to be safe and no immediate environmental concerns were raised.

After initial assessments on its sea-worthiness, the vessel set sail towards its destination.
