According to a New York Post report, a Minnesota Airbnb listing advertises a striking-looking pirate ship docked in the Mississippi River where guests can stay from $300 per night, making your Pirates of Carribbean dream come true.
Straight Out of Movies?
Located four minutes from the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport, the 65-foot-long vessel looks straight out of the movies with a fake skeleton hanging from a mast, a steering wheel, a gangplank to step onboard, and even costumes, to get visitors in the swashbucklin’ spirit.
Fancy a Pirate Party?
While the whole ship runs $300 per night for one to five people to stay, an additional $300 fee is added for a pirate party of seven to 20 people.
Spooky Interiors
Photos show an open-air upper deck with lounge seating, wood-paneled interiors with wide-plank wooden floors, a shaded hammock, a statue of a pirate wearing a bandanna and ripped jeans and a painted ceiling featuring a menacing human skull that exclaims, “Beware!”
Modern Features
But this being 2019, the ship also features WiFi, a television and a refrigerator.
Cruising Warnings & Restrictions
The listing comes with some warnings.
- First, don’t expect to go on a pillaging trip down the river, as the vessel mainly stays docked at a marina.
- It isn’t handicap accessible and maneuvering through the ship requires “some agility” with narrow walkways and stairs that can go straight up like a ladder.
- While the bathrooms on the ship work, the listing notes that guests tend to prefer using the marina’s bathroom, which are open round-the-clock.
One of a Kind Stay
A guest named Carrie, in a July review, says the stay was one-of-a-kind.
“Everything is in the details,” she writes. “From the novelty of being on a ginormous pirate ship, to the crew that abandoned it leaving all of their treasures, unique library, jewelry and clothing. [The hosts] were fantastic at making sure we were transported into the adventure we were looking for.”
