Enterprise Products Partners’ expansion of LPG export capacity on the Houston Ship Channel has come online, reports Platts.
Expansion of LPG export capacity
Enterprise Products Partners’ latest expansion of LPG export capacity at its Enterprise Hydrocarbon Terminal on the Houston Ship Channel has come online, a company spokesman said Friday.
“We are in the process of commissioning and will be ramping up,” spokesman Rick Rainey said in an email Friday.
Increased LPG export capacity
The 175,000 b/d expansion increases the terminal’s export capacity to 775,000 b/d. In July, the company announced more expansions, including another 260,000 b/d of LPG loading capacity to start up in the third quarter of 2020.
When finished, the terminal will have more than 1 million b/d of LPG export capacity.
Trade sources expectations
According to trade sources,
- Three-four cargoes more can have an impact on the global market.
- More outflows were expected to boost freight rates.
Refrigeration facilities
Enterprise is also adding 67,200 b/d of propylene export capacity at EHT with new refrigeration facilities.
When that expansion comes online in the fourth quarter of 2020, the company will increase its flexibility, attaining the ability to co-load fully refrigerated polymer-grade propylene (PGP) and LPG on the same vessel.
Eighth dock to increase crude export
The company also is building an eighth dock at the terminal with capability of loading up to 840,000 b/d of crude, which would increase its overall crude export capacity to 2.75 million b/d.
The dock is expected to begin service in Q4 2020, and will be able to accommodate a Suezmax vessel, the largest ship class able to navigate the Houston Ship Channel.
