The Shipowners’ Club, the leading mutual P&I insurer in the small and specialist vessel sector, have opened a new service office in Greece, reports Seatrade Maritime News.
Office at Piraeus
The club’s new Greek office is located in Piraeus and over 70 guests, including brokers, correspondents and lawyers attended a celebration recently for the opening of the new premises.
The club said it had seen steady growth of its Greek business which had led to it deciding to set up and office in the country.
Symbol of gratitude
“The opening of our new office is a mark of our gratitude to our Members and their brokers for their exemplary support over a number of years,“ said Simon Swallow, ceo of the Shipowners’ Club.
He added, “By investing in a Greek service office we are able to provide enhanced support for both operators and our network of correspondents in the region, who perform an invaluable service as the eyes and ears of the association.”
The Greek office will provide local support to clients with core insurance activities continuing to be managed from London.
