Vessel acquisition

Maritime investment company Dee4 Capital Partners, headed by former Norden and BW Group CEO Carsten Mortensen, has made another vessel acquisition paying USD 16.8 million.

  • The fund has just bought its fifth ship, a 47,400 dwt MR2 tanker from 2009.
  • The ship was bought from Japanese Fuyo Kaiun, according to ship database.
  • Mortensen confirms that Dee4 Capital Partners has acquired the ship, which will be renamed from Rich Wind to Dee4 Elm.
  • The ship will be delivered to the new owner in February.

Five product tanker vessels

The purchase of the fifth ship comes just a week after Dee4 Capital Partners announced that it had acquired its fourth ship.

Goal with the fund raised

The company also recently closed its first fund Dee4 Capital I K/S, in which 20 investors placed USD 71 million. When the fund was first announced in the summer of 2019, the goal was USD 100 million in investments before the end of the year.

The five ships are all product tankers in the range of 46,000 to 53,700 dwt.
