Owners who spent millions on exhaust gas scrubbers may not only see returns from fuel-price spreads, according to Eagle Bulk Shipping’s Gary Vogel. There may be some extra cash in it for them when it comes to asset plays, the chief executive says.
Eagle’s scrubber installation program
Eagle’s scrubber installation program is nearly complete with 37 fully commissioned scrubbers in operation today and a total of 41, representing 82% of the owned-fleet, expected by the end of March. This makes Eagle the largest owner of scrubber-fitted Supramax/Ultramax vessels in the world.
