6000 People Locked in Cruise As Chinese Pair Gets Coronavirus Treatment

According to an article published in Maritime Bulletin, a Chinese pair have been isolated in hospital on board of Costa Cruises cruise ship at Civitavecchia, Italy.

What happened?

On January 30, the couple were isolated after both were found to be suffering from fever and respiratory complications, both are presently undergoing medical checks, coronavirus suspected to be the case.

Passengers banned from disembarking

Around 6,000 people onboard have been banned from disembarking, understood both passengers and crew. The ship was reported to be brand new cruise ship completing her 6-day cruise around Mediterranean. She arrived from Mallorca. Understood the pair arrived in Italy on January 25 and joined cruise at Savona, second port of call.
