New ways of fighting the coronavirus outbreak have emerged on a cruise stranded in Japan, reports the Business Insider.

What is it?

According to the report, the Japanese government is countering the virus outbreak with new technology. The Japanese Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare have gone one step further and given 2000 iPhones to the people on the cruise. The iPhones come loaded with pre-downloaded apps for medications and other acquisition requests.

How will it help?

This will help people gain access to medicine and other emergency facilities without being in touch with anyone and thus will help to stop spreading the disease.

Why was it needed?

More than 3500 passengers are stranded on the Diamond Princess cruise for longer than a week. The virus is spreading at an alarming rate there with fresh cases being reported every day. Already more than 900 are infected and people are getting jittery inside their locked own cabins.

Soft Bank Serviced iPhones are needed because people can’t access their own iPhones apps or other apps because they aren’t Japanese registered apps. So, those apps aren’t accessible.
