Navig8 Chemical Tankers Inc. (N-OTC: CHEMS) announced that it will acquire, and enter into a contract to purchase, another 49,000 dwt IMO2 eco-design, the Interline-coated chemical tanker to be built at STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. in Korea (“STX”).
The Company has options to purchase five additional sister vessels from STX.
The vessel will have the capability to transport methanol and other specialty cargoes. It will be built to the same technical specifications as the Company’s pre-existing orders with STX.
The new vessel is expected to be delivered by mid-2017 and then deployed in the Chronos8 pool managed by the Navig8 Group
