On Wednesday, in the waters off Ouano wharf, Mandaue City, Cebu, a cargo ship carrying 15 container vans ran aground.
It’s reported that the vessel hit a shallow area during the low tide around 2 a.m. It was travelling from the Ouano Wharf to Cagayan de Oro City.
Commander Agapito Bibat, Philippine Coast Guard station commander for Cebu, said that the roll-on roll-off vessel will resume its journey after getting clearance from the Maritime Industry Authority.
There was no major damage to the cargo vessel or any injuries to crew reported. Its set to be towed back to Ouano Wharf at 1 p.m for repairs.
