According to a recent government survey, nearly half of the digital users in Australia have been downloading TV shows and music on a regular basis.

The act of illegal downloading would come down if the content was available and cheaper as in other countries.

In a comparative research, it has been found that only one-fifth of the digital users in Britain download the online content.

The research comes in the middle of an Australian government crackdown on digital copyright infringement.  The government has made adequate changes to make sure that illegal downloading is curbed.  Also as an act of blocking the overseas websites infringing the copyright, the government has amended the Copyright Act 1968.
