AAL Shipping (AAL) proudly marks its 30th anniversary in 2025, celebrating a legacy of delivering award-winning shipping solutions to the multipurpose, project, and heavy-lift cargo sectors. To commemorate this milestone, AAL hosted a special customer event alongside Breakbulk Middle East in Dubai, reflecting on its journey and achievements over the past three decades.

Since its founding in 1995, AAL has established a strong reputation for reliability and customer-centric service, supporting industries worldwide with its diverse fleet and commitment to operational excellence.

Growth, Innovation, and Industry Commitment

Over the years, AAL has expanded its operations across key global trade routes, serving dynamic industries such as energy, infrastructure, construction, mining, and leisure. While its continued investments in fleet and infrastructure have fueled this growth, AAL’s leadership attributes its success to its long-standing relationships with customers, supply chain partners, and employees.

Kyriacos Panayides, CEO of AAL Shipping, expressed his gratitude:
“Reaching this 30-year milestone is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our teams spanning four continents, as well as the trust and support of our customers, vendors and associates”.

Fleet Expansion and Future Vision

Marking its anniversary with continued innovation, AAL is currently delivering its third-generation 32,000 dwt Super B-Class vessels. This new fleet builds on the company’s earlier new build programs, including the 19,000 dwt S-Class and 31,000 dwt A-Class multipurpose heavy lift vessels. The Super B-Class represents AAL’s commitment to meeting the evolving demands of the heavy lift and project cargo sector.

Panayides emphasized AAL’s transformation over the decades:
“With every new generation of vessel, AAL continues its evolution from our origins as a multipurpose carrier of mostly breakbulk and steel cargoes to one that is at the forefront of the premium project heavy lift segment. Our long-standing liner services established in 1995 and still running also give us the unique capability to parcel all types of MPP cargo and over the years, we have worked closely with our customers to understand their current and future needs to remain their partner of choice”.

Celebrations at Breakbulk Middle East and Beyond

AAL launched its anniversary celebrations at Breakbulk Middle East, one of the industry’s key global gatherings. The company welcomed hundreds of delegates each day and hosted a rooftop reception for industry partners. The event, attended by approximately 7,500 professionals, highlighted the Middle East’s position as a growing project hub, with USD 264 billion worth of contracts awarded in 2024.

AAL’s Managing Director, Christophe Grammare, contributed to an expert panel discussion on fleet capacity challenges and regulatory pressures in the multipurpose project heavy lift sector. His insights addressed critical industry issues and the strategies carriers are adopting to navigate these challenges.

This event marks the start of a year-long global celebration, as AAL continues to show appreciation for its customers, stakeholders, and employees. The company looks forward to celebrating with industry partners worldwide throughout 2025.
