A new maritime software as a service (SaaS) business called ABS WavesightTM which will help shipowners and operators streamline compliance while maintaining competitive, more effective, and sustainable operations, was officially launched by ABS today, as reported by Cision.

Broader business strategy

The industry-leading platforms Nautical SystemsTM and My Digital FleetTM which are jointly installed on more than 5,000 vessels across the global fleet are combined to form ABS Wavesight, which is built on ABS’ 160-year history of maritime innovation and safety.

“By combining the extensive offerings of Nautical Systems and the cutting-edge performance and compliance tools of My Digital Fleet into one potent new SaaS business, ABS Wavesight stands well above other maritime software companies,” according to Christopher J. Wiernicki, ABS Chairman, President, and CEO. “ABS Wavesight is a vital component of our broader business strategy to support our clients and the industry in the development of cleaner, smarter, and safer shipping operations. It complements ABS’ core classification services.”

Seamless user experience

Contrary to rivals, ABS Wavesight’s integrated, purpose-built solutions guarantee a seamless user experience that lowers costs, increases safety, and designs out inefficiencies.

According to Paul Sells, CEO and President of ABS Wavesight, “Our vision for ABS Wavesight is to provide our clients with unmatched value through a suite of products that offer integrated solutions as opposed to fragmented vendor offerings, open APIs as opposed to closed systems that don’t share data, and flexible architecture for easy system integration and maintenance as opposed to expensive upgrades every few years.” As shipping moves closer to a new horizon, “our main focus is building software that helps clients gain more visibility into their existing processes to manage risk and create operational excellence.”

Wide range of capabilities

My Digital Fleet, an AI-driven analytics and performance visualisation platform, and Nautical Systems, a fleet management system with a wide range of capabilities to boost performance and dependability, are two of ABS Wavesight’s main products. By seamlessly integrating both solutions, ABS Wavesight expands on these capabilities and provides unmatched fleet asset awareness and real-time insights that promote sustainable operations and lower operational risks.
