AD Ports Group (ADPORTS:ADX), a leading enabler of integrated trade, transport, and logistics solutions, has inaugurated Al Faya Dry Port, a customs-bonded inland container depot (ICD) designed to enhance the connectivity of Khalifa Port and improve logistics operations across the UAE.

Strategically located between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Al Faya Dry Port serves as a key transit terminal, enabling faster cargo movement for Dubai and the Northern Emirates. Linked overland to Khalifa Port, the facility optimizes supply chain efficiency by reducing transit times and enhancing cost-effective cargo handling.

Expanding Service Reach for Shipping Partners

Al Faya Dry Port’s first key client is CMA CGM, but the facility will scale up to serve other strategic partners, including COSCO and MSC. Based on market demand, AD Ports Group may expand the ICD network across Abu Dhabi, further strengthening its logistics ecosystem.

The new facility complements the CMA Terminals Khalifa Port, inaugurated in December 2024, by extending its commercial reach to customers across the UAE. By bridging the gap between Khalifa Port and end destinations, the ICD enables CMA CGM and other port operators to generate origin and destination (O&D) business.

Seamless Digital Integration for Faster Cargo Movement

Al Faya Dry Port is fully digitally integrated with Khalifa Port through Maqta Technologies’ Advanced Trade & Logistics Platform (ATLP). This integration facilitates real-time cargo tracking, improves operational transparency, and ensures seamless coordination between port and inland logistics.

The dry port truck terminal has an initial capacity of 900 TEUs, with the ability to scale further based on future demand, ensuring flexibility to accommodate increasing cargo volumes.

Strengthening Strategic Ties Between AD Ports Group and CMA CGM

The opening of Al Faya Dry Port reflects the growing partnership between AD Ports Group and CMA CGM, following their joint shareholders’ agreement to develop and operate the New East Mole multipurpose terminal in Pointe Noire, Congo-Brazzaville. AD Ports Group secured a 30-year extendable concession for this project in June 2023, further solidifying its global presence in port operations.

Captain Mohamed Juma Al Shamisi, Managing Director and Group CEO of AD Ports Group, stated:

“The opening of Al Faya Dry Port is not only a tangible example of our support to key commercial partners, but a sign of our commitment to raising the quality of supply chains across the UAE, which will benefit individuals and businesses across the country in line with the vision of our wise leadership. The ICD is another sign of our growing collaboration with our key strategic partner CMA CGM Group, both at home and abroad. For CMA CGM, this inland container depot will effectively expand their addressable market from Abu Dhabi to the entire UAE. The creation of this key infrastructure hub supports the Group and CMA Terminals Khalifa Port’s joint efforts to streamline and optimise the supply chain of customers across the UAE.”

Global Standards and Security Compliance

Al Faya Dry Port is International Shipping & Port Facility Security Code (ISPS) compliant, ensuring it meets the highest global industry standards for port security. The customs-bonded facility is designed to enable quick truck turnaround, reducing delays and allowing faster cargo movement across the UAE.

With the launch of Al Faya Dry Port, AD Ports Group continues to expand its role as a key player in regional and international trade, further strengthening the UAE’s position as a global logistics hub.
