  • ADNOC Logistics & Services receives its fourth new-build LNG carrier as fleet expansion accelerates.
  • The 175,000 m³ vessel is 25% larger and equipped with dual-fuel engines cutting methane emissions by up to 50%.
  • Two more LNG carriers will join the fleet in early 2026 as ADNOC L&S pursues a major multi-billion-dollar renewal programme.

ADNOC Logistics & Services has added Al Sadaf, the fourth in its series of six new-build LNG carriers from Jiangnan Shipyard in China. Delivered on schedule, the 175,000 m³ vessel is significantly larger than earlier ADNOC LNG carriers and is set to begin commercial operations immediately.

The delivery forms part of a multi-billion-dollar fleet modernisation programme designed to support rising global demand for lower-carbon energy transport.

Built for Efficiency and Future LNG Growth

The new vessel features two next-generation LNG dual-fuel engines and a suite of energy-efficient technologies that can reduce methane emissions by up to 50%. ADNOC L&S said the expanded and upgraded fleet will offer greater operational flexibility, enhanced efficiency and long-term value creation for shareholders.

The company also reported record financial performance in the first nine months of 2025, reflecting strong execution of its growth strategy.

Delivery Ceremony Marks Strengthened Group Integration

A ceremony held in China was attended by ADNOC L&S CEO Abdulkareem Al Masabi and ADNOC Gas CEO Fatema Al Nuaimi. The naming of Al Sadaf highlighted close collaboration across the ADNOC value chain, especially as ADNOC Gas continues to expand its LNG export infrastructure.

Al Masabi noted that each new carrier boosts ADNOC L&S’s ability to capture new opportunities and advance lower-carbon maritime logistics. Al Nuaimi added that the ongoing LNG berth upgrade at Das Island—allowing ships up to 180,000 m³ will further enhance export flexibility and commercial value.

More Vessels on the Way

The remaining two LNG carriers in the series will join the fleet in the first half of 2026. Alongside them, ADNOC L&S is building nine Very Large Ethane Carriers (VLECs) and four Very Large Ammonia Carriers (VLACs) at Jiangnan’s Shanghai yard, reinforcing its long-term expansion in gas and alternative-fuel transport.
