The Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT) has made important strides toward reducing its environmental footprint by equipping two of its rail-mounted gantry cranes (RMGs) with white noise reversing alarms. These cranes, located near residential areas, are now equipped with an advanced alarm system designed to minimize noise pollution and enhance community well-being, reports AJOT.
White Noise Alarms
As against other screaming types of alarms, these reversing alarms produce a quieter local noise. That is, it only relates to the immediate area where the crane is located so there won’t be spillover and less of interference across the terminal. Its other feature is adaptive volume adjustment with respect to time, responding also to the ambient level for less noise during the nighttime and less disturbance caused among the residents.
Safety Upgrades with Modern Technology
Installing white noise alarms also enhances safety by reducing noise pollution. These alarms have a persistent, easily traced sound that allows both workers and pedestrians to identify moving equipment quickly, even in poor visibility. Thus, the terminal maintains high standards of safety while achieving environmental outcomes.
