- 26 maritime companies reached the ‘Leading’ stage across all five DEI principles for the first time.
- Progress achieved despite external scrutiny, with strong advances in accountability, culture, and data-driven strategies.
- Focus expanding to psychological safety, neurodiversity, menopause awareness, and inclusive communication.
The All Aboard Alliance has published its third annual Insights 2025 report, reviewing progress on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) across the maritime industry. This year’s assessment covered 26 member companies, each evaluated against the Alliance’s five guiding principles: accountability, learning and development, organisational culture, data, and communications. For the first time, all participating companies achieved the ‘Leading’ stage across every principle, marking a significant milestone.
Resilience Amid External Pressures
Despite heightened scrutiny of DEI initiatives worldwide, Alliance members have shown resilience and determination. Meei Wong, CEO of Circle Digital Ventures, and Mikael Skov, CEO of Hafnia, who co-chair the Alliance, emphasised that the 2025 report reflects the courage of companies that continue to push forward, strengthen their DEI foundations, and maintain focus despite global complexity.
Expanding the Scope of DEI
The findings reveal how members are broadening their approach to inclusion. Accountability for diversity has moved beyond leadership and is now embedded in daily operations. Training initiatives address areas such as psychological safety, neurodiversity, inclusive language, menopause awareness, and employee well-being. Organisational culture is evolving to promote trust, participation, and safe environments, while stronger data collection and analysis are enabling more effective DEI strategies.
Communicating the Business Value of Inclusion
The review also highlights how DEI is being linked more directly to business performance. Even amid geopolitical shifts and organisational change, leaders continue to stress that inclusive practices are not only ethical but also vital for talent retention, innovation, and sustainable growth.
The All Aboard Alliance calls on members to remain strategic, strengthen internal processes, and continue driving progress despite uncertainty. By embedding inclusivity at every level, the maritime industry can foster workplaces where diverse talent thrives and long-term growth is secured.
