What happened?

A roro ferry ‘Primula Seaways’ which was coming in from Terneuzen collided with a container ship ‘MSC Madrid’ off Flushing, near Antwerp.

Both the ferry and the container ship were proceeding from the same direction when they collided with each other. The container ship ran into the port side and the impact of the allision caused significant damage.

Proceeded towards destination

Eventhough, the ferry suffered considerable damages on its port side, it was able to continue its journey to the anchorage in Ghent for further repairs.

The container ship was moored at Wielingen North anchorage, having sailed from Hamburg and being bound to Antwerp where she was finally berthed.
