Allseas has announced a partnership with the Nuclear Energy Maritime Organization (NEMO). Founded earlier this year, NEMO is leading the charge in bringing nuclear technology into the maritime sector as a cleaner alternative to fossil fuels.
Setting a course for nuclear with NEMO
Allseas has been actively investing in R&D to explore nuclear power as sustainable propulsion solutions for offshore vessels, as they recognise the vast potential of nuclear energy in reducing emissions and advancing global clean energy goals.
The development of small modular reactors (SMRs) – designed to be inherently “walk-away safe”– presents a compelling solution for offshore applications. During panel discussions at the OECD’s New Nuclear conference in September, Allseas highlighted the need to make nuclear more affordable through innovation and investment, a space where Allseas has a proven track record of excelling.
The partnership with NEMO underlines the commitment to pioneer change within the offshore industry. Together, the organizations are working towards a sustainable future for maritime operations, setting new standards for safe, secure, and efficient energy solutions.
