  • The partnership targets the annual export of up to 1 million tonnes of green fuels from India to Europe.
  • The Port of Rotterdam will serve as the main hub for importing and distributing green fuels like green ammonia and sustainable aviation fuel.
  • This initiative supports international goals to reduce carbon emissions and promote renewable energy infrastructure.

AM Green, backed by the founders of Greenko Group, has partnered with the Port of Rotterdam Authority to establish a green energy supply chain connecting India to Northwestern Europe, reads an official release.

This green fuel corridor aims to facilitate the annual trade of up to 1 million tonnes of green fuels—such as green ammonia and sustainable aviation fuel—valued at approximately $1 billion.

International collaboration in renewable energy

The Port of Rotterdam, Europe’s largest energy port and a central hub for hydrogen carriers, will play a key role in enabling the import, transport, and distribution of these green energy resources throughout the continent.

This partnership marks a major step in fostering international collaboration in renewable energy and reflects a strong commitment to sustainable energy practices. The project aligns with broader efforts to develop green and digital corridors for clean energy exports to Europe, supporting advances in digitalization, green shipping, and logistics optimization.

By enhancing global connectivity in the renewable energy sector, the collaboration is expected to significantly contribute to decarbonization targets and reinforce international trade in sustainable fuels.
