Anemoi Marine Technologies Ltd. and U-Ming Marine Transport Ltd. have partnered to install four advanced Rotor Sails on one of U-Ming’s 325,000 DWT Very Large Ore Carriers (VLOC), marking a significant step towards decarbonizing maritime transport.

What are Rotor Sails?
Rotor Sails, also known as Flettner Rotors, are vertical cylinders that utilize the Magnus effect to harness wind power, providing additional thrust and improving vessel energy efficiency. They are recognized for contributing to international emission reduction targets such as the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII) and EEDI/EEXI compliance.
