The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) will change leadership on June 16, 2025. Mr Ang Wee Keong, aged 44, will succeed Mr Teo Eng Dih, aged 47, as Chief Executive, who will assume the position of Deputy Secretary (Special Duties) at the Ministry of Transport (MOT), reports The Straits Times.

Transition Period and Dual Roles

Mr Ang will be Chief Executive-Designate from May 1 to June 15 and continue in his current capacity as Assistant Chief Executive (International) at the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA). He will take up the MPA leadership position on June 16 and vacate his IMDA position.

Long Experience in Digital Policy and Strategy

In IMDA, Mr Ang directed global strategy and digital collaborations. He was instrumental in multilateral discussions, regional cooperation through mechanisms like the Asean Digital Ministers’ Meeting and Asia Tech x Singapore, and crafting Singapore’s Digital Infrastructure Act.

Mr Teo’s Contributions to Singapore’s Maritime Sector

Mr Teo delivered significant performances while in office at MPA. These include the development of Singapore’s International Maritime Centre, fostering the PIER71 maritime innovation ecosystem, and hitting a record number of vessel arrivals, container traffic, bunker sales, and ship registrations.

The MOT made the leadership adjustments on April 29, citing the successes of both leaders and presenting the handover plan for Singapore’s maritime administration.
