Anglo-Eastern Ship Management has become the first major ship management company to commit to fleetwide adoption of AI-supported situational awareness through a new strategic partnership with Orca AI. The collaboration will see Orca AI’s advanced operational platform deployed across more than 750 vessels, marking a significant milestone in the maritime industry’s digital transformation and its growing reliance on AI to improve safety, efficiency, and environmental performance.
Transforming Ship Management Through AI Innovation
Under the agreement, Anglo-Eastern will integrate Orca AI’s technology into its service offering, enhancing navigational safety and providing real-time data insights across its managed fleet. Central to the platform are the SeaPod digital watchkeeper, designed to deliver superior situational awareness in congested or low-visibility areas, and FleetView, a shoreside monitoring system offering actionable insights to office teams.
Anglo-Eastern CIO Torbjorn Dimblad emphasized that AI-driven assistance reduces crew workload, improves decision-making, and supports ongoing crew upskilling. He noted that adopting AI-powered navigation aligns with the company’s commitment to innovation and reflects its role in shaping the future of digital ship management.
A Strategic Step for Orca AI and the Wider Maritime Sector
For Orca AI, the partnership represents its first strategic agreement with a ship management company, expanding its reach beyond owners and operators to large multi-client fleet managers. Its technology is already used globally to enhance safety, cut fuel consumption, and reduce emissions.
Orca AI CEO Yarden Gross highlighted that partnering with a respected, people-first company like Anglo-Eastern reinforces the platform’s value and signals that AI-assisted navigation will soon be a standard expectation in safe, sustainable operations.
By committing to deploy Orca AI’s situational awareness technology across its extensive fleet, Anglo-Eastern has positioned itself at the forefront of maritime digitalization. The partnership not only strengthens operational safety and efficiency but also sets a benchmark for the entire industry. As AI becomes increasingly embedded in global shipping, this collaboration marks a pivotal step toward safer, smarter, and more sustainable fleet management worldwide.
