The AICC Huanghu, a new pure car and truck carrier ordered by Chinese shipowner Anhui Port and Shipping Group, recently finished sea trials. According to reports, the trials, which took place on Tuesday, December 31, included sailing the vessel to Hong Kong. Both the parties involved in testing felt that the performance of AICC Huanghu satisfied all of them. After its successfully evaluated performance, the ship will be operated by Anhui Hangrui International Ro-Ro Transportation Company, a subsidiary of Anhui Port and Shipping Group, reports Baird Maritime.
Vehicle Transport from China to the Mediterranean
Following delivery, the AICC Huanghu will be used for the transportation of vehicle cargo, including lithium battery-powered vehicles, between China and the Mediterranean.
Specifications and Cargo Capacity
The PCTC features the following specifications:
- Length overall (LOA): 199.9 metres
- Beam: 38 metres
- Maximum draught: 10 metres
- Depth: 15.5 metres
- Gross tonnage: 71,000
- Cargo decks: 12
The ship has a capacity for up to 7,000 vehicles, so it is an important addition to the fleet for vehicle transport.
Eco-Friendly Features and Advanced Engine Technology
The AICC Huanghu is fitted with a WinGD dual-fuel main engine that can run on LNG. The engine is also equipped with an Intelligent Control by Exhaust Recycling (ICER) system, which reduces greenhouse gas emissions and minimizes methane slip, thus being in line with global environmental goals.

The Shanghai Merchant Ship Design and Research Institute, SDARI, which has a great record of innovative designs in ship-building, took the responsibility for designing work for AICC Huanghu.
The vessel reflects a commitment to large-scale vehicle transportation, sustainable and efficient.
