APM Terminals Launches New Feeder Service

  • PM Terminals Poti has launched a new feeder service.
  • It will  facilitate a direct connection.
  • Will be between Poti Port, Georgia, and Istanbul, Turkey.

The new service will enable APM Terminals to extend its offering between the two countries.

Global Gateway

Every 12 to 14 days, the 925 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) Contship Joy will run between Turkish ports and Poti Port. APM Terminals Poti, which is a global gateway for trade in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, serves as a hub for trade between Europe and Central Asia.

The port has on-dock rail connections and direct connections to the region’s road and rail networks as well as being linked to all major cities in Georgia, the greater Caucasus region and Central Asia.

Worldwide Network

The new service is said to extend the ports’ global connectivity even further through the worldwide network of ZIM . APM Terminals Poti chief commercial officer Iain Rawlinson said: “APM Terminals Poti is delighted to welcome ZIM’s new service. With the increased need for connections between Georgia and Central Asia and the rest of the world.

Last month, APM Terminals and Bolloré Ports opened a new terminal in Abidjan, a city on the southern Atlantic coast of Côte d’Ivoire in West Africa.
