APM Terminals Mexico has announced a comprehensive modernisation programme for its Puerto Progreso container terminal, with a projected investment of approximately MXN 3 billion spread across 19 years. The initiative focuses on renewing infrastructure, upgrading equipment, and deploying advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency, enhance safety standards, and provide full logistical visibility while delivering more reliable services.

The project aims to position Puerto Progreso at the forefront of logistical development in Yucatán and southeastern Mexico. By raising operational standards and improving maritime and logistical connectivity, the initiative is set to create employment opportunities, stimulate economic activity, and contribute to the region’s shared prosperity.

This agreement will facilitate knowledge sharing and the application of global best practices in container terminal management, driving industrial growth and supporting the region’s long-term development.
