An attempt to attack an oil tanker in the Arabian Sea was foiled by Arab Coalition, reports Eurasia Review.
What happened?
Coalition spokesperson Col. Turki Al-Maliki said that, the Arab coalition foiled an attempt to attack an oil tanker in the Arabian Sea.
The attack took place 166 kilometers south east of the Yemeni port of Nishtun on Tuesday at 02:39 P.M. The tanker was travelling towards the Gulf of Aden.
Unmanned boat used for the attack
According to Al-Maliki, four boats attempted to attack the ship and triggered an explosion. One of the boats used for the explosion was unmanned and was controlled from a distance.
Working toward global safety
Al-Maliki said that coalition’s joint forces continue to take necessary measures to destroy any maritime threats in the area where coalition carries out naval operations.
The coalition has also called on its international partners to unite with it in thwarting these threats to global safety.
