AtoB@C Shipping Expands Hybrid Fleet with Delivery of Aquamar

On 17 September, AtoB@C Shipping welcomed Aquamar, its fourth plug-in hybrid vessel delivered in the past year. This acquisition emphasizes the company’s commitment to fleet modernization and environmental sustainability.

Innovative Design and Technology

The Aquamar features advanced hybrid propulsion and shore power connectivity, aligning with the latest trends in maritime technology. With a deadweight tonnage of 5,350 and ice class certification, the vessel is built to ensure both efficient and eco-friendly operations. Its battery integration enables quiet, emission-free port visits, reducing CO2 emissions by nearly 50% compared to older vessels.

Launch of Fifth Vessel

On 5 September, the shipyard launched Maximar, the fifth vessel in AtoB@C Shipping’s hybrid fleet. The ship is currently undergoing outfitting and is scheduled for delivery later this year, continuing the company’s rapid expansion of its sustainable fleet.

Ongoing Fleet Orders and Future Plans

AtoB@C Shipping has committed to a long-term fleet expansion with an order of twelve 5,350 dwt plug-in hybrid vessels from Chowgule & Company. These vessels will be delivered quarterly, with the final delivery set for autumn 2026, reflecting the company’s strategy for sustainable growth.
