  • Tanker Delfi crashes off the coast of Odessa.
  • Specialists of the company Smart Maritime Concept tried twice to raise the stranded tanker.
  • Both the attempts were fruitless and the third attempt is to be followed the next day.

A news report published in The Saxon says that the evacuation of the capsized tanker Delfi is unsuccessful twice due to poor cables.

Watching out for possible contamination

“This morning I carried out all the preparatory work to begin the evacuation of the tanker Delfi. Unfortunately, the first two attempts were unsuccessful due to weak cables, one of which burst. Tomorrow is waiting for the third attempt”, — said the press service of the State ecological inspection in Odessa region in Facebook.

“The inspectors of the state ecological inspection in Odessa region follow the process of transportation of the tanker and watch for possible contamination by sampling sea water”, — noted in press service.

Two weeks required to pull the tanker

According to the head of the Odessa regional state administration Maxim Kuts, Marine professionals Smart Concept should bring the slope of the tanker to the angle of 45 degrees, put on the keel and get him off the beach.

Representatives of the owner of the vessel convinced that after all the necessary work they will need two weeks to pull the tanker to the place of the future dislocation.
