  • New Partnership Accelerates Adoption of Emulsion Fuels in Maritime Industry.
  • Auramarine and Quadrise Join Forces for a Sustainable Maritime Future.
  • MSAR and bioMSAR Fuels to Transform Shipping with Auramarine’s Expertise.

Auramarine, a Finnish leader in fuel supply systems, is working with Quadrise in the implementation of novel solutions for lower emissions within the maritime industry. The companies expect this collaboration to leverage their respective areas of expertise on emulsion fuels, biofuels, and fuel system technologies to better enable shipping companies to meet their decarbonisation objectives and observe evolving environmental regulations, reports Clean Shipping International.

Contributions of Quadrise to Sustainable Shipping

Quadrise brings a wealth of experience in developing and delivering advanced emulsion fuels, including MSAR and bioMSAR. MSAR is a synthetic oil-in-water emulsion fuel that delivers clean and cost-effective alternatives to traditional heavy fuel oil, or HFO. MSAR enhances combustion efficiency while lowering emissions and costs greatly through the blending of residual oils, water, and additives.

Furthermore, bioMSAR is a renewable evolution of this technology. BioMSAR uses sustainable components, such as water-based glycerine, and biofuels that grant an environmentally friendly solution answering the industry’s demands for carbon neutrality. Used in combination, these fuels offer the maritime sector practical alternatives to reduce environmental impact without compromising on efficiency and performance.

Auramarine’s Expertise in Fuel Supply Systems

Auramarine brings with it vast knowledge in the design, installation, and maintenance of fuel supply systems, including Quadrise’s emulsion fuels solutions. The company’s retrofitting solution is such that it does not require the entry of vessels into the dry docking system, thus making it easy and ensuring negligible impact on ship owners’ operation.

Auramarine will also support the implementation of Quadrise’s blend-on-board technology, allowing ships to prepare MSAR and bioMSAR fuels onboard. Their modular fuel supply systems ensure compatibility with various vessel types, enabling the adoption of Quadrise’s technologies on a global scale.

A Shared Vision for Decarbonisation

Common goal The partnership between Auramarine and Quadrise is based on the shared goal of increasing the pace with which sustainable marine fuels become a real alternative. Both companies will draw upon their combined skillset and resources to promote MSAR and bioMSAR around the globe in the shipping community. Using this collaboration, the parties hope to offer a fully integrated solution that addresses decarbonisation with cost savings and operational efficiencies for ship owners.

Leadership Insights

John Bergman, CEO of Auramarine said “We are pleased to announce this collaboration agreement with Quadrise, who are driving a positive shift in the marine sector with their proven emulsion technology to improve efficiency, lower emissions, and supply new sustainable fuels. The current uptake of future fuels needs to be accelerated to meet decarbonisation targets within the maritime industry. By combining our strengths, we are confident that this partnership will drive further innovation and create significant value for our customers and other stakeholders.”

Jason Miles, CEO of Quadrise said “We are delighted to sign this collaboration agreement with Auramarine, who have extensive experience and an enviable track record in the design, supply, and servicing of fuel systems for conventional and future fuels. This collaboration is in line with our strategy of working with new channel partners to decarbonise shipping. Auramarine’s expertise and resources will accelerate the global implementation of MSAR and bioMSAR fuel conversions.”
