Launched in October 2023 under the aegis of the FII Institute, the initiative aligns closely with Bahri’s long-term ESG strategy and the Kingdom’s broader sustainability ambitions under Vision 2030.

Founded by Her Royal Highness Princess Reema Bint Bandar Al Saud, Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to the United States, the WAVE initiative focuses on protecting marine ecosystems, reducing pollution, and promoting sustainable use of ocean resources. By joining WAVE, Bahri strengthens its commitment to responsible maritime growth and reinforces its alignment with the Saudi Green Initiative (SGI), particularly the “30×30” goal to protect 30% of marine and terrestrial areas by 2030.
