On December 9, a vessel had to be assisted by a tug vessel after it reportedly lost its emergency anchor.
What happened?
The vessel ‘EMS Ponton 7’ was reportedly assisted by ‘EMS Pull’ from Emden to Papenburg after it reportedly lost its emergency anchor gear upon entering the sea lock of Papenburg.
Lost its anchor:
The crew members were able to recover the anchor chain but were not able to locate the anchor. The crew members were not able to identify whether the anchor was lost in the anchor area or at sea.
An investigation has been launched by the Emden water police and the vessel has been berthed in Papenburg until further repairs.
